IDS-related dispensing activity at UNC REX Health Care is supported through oversight from the UNC Health Care Central IDS team. Central IDS is located at UNC Health Care Neuroscience Hospital in Chapel Hill. A pharmacist from Central IDS will serve as the liaison to REX pharmacy staff. REX inpatient pharmacy staff will be onsite locally at UNC REX to perform dispensing and accountability functions. Satellite IDS primary pharmacists are trained on each new study by the pharmacist of record that prepared the study protocol for dispensing. Additionally, a pharmacist on the Central IDS team will be on call 24/7/365.

UNC Nash Satellite IDS

IDS-related dispensing activity at UNC Nash Health Care is supported through oversight from the UNC Health Care Central IDS team (Central IDS). Nash staff will be onsite locally to perform dispensing and accountability. A pharmacist from Central IDS will be on-call 24/7/365. Access to pharmacy locations is limited to authorized staff only. Controlled access is granted by approved ID badge, key, or door code. In case of an emergency, hospital police have access to the pharmacies. IDS requires all documentation from the sponsor to be supplied only in electronic format. IDS has an onsite destruction policy for both hazardous and non-hazardous drugs.
